Resources for paying referrers?

Monday Oct 26, 2009

I would like to set up a website to sell an eBook, and I’d like a way to pay people who send people to the site when that person buys the product. Is this "affiliate marketing"?, and does anyone have a good resource I can go to, to understand how to go about doing it?

I am not sure when affiliate marketing became illegal at all. This is what you are looking for. It is totally legal to pay referrers to send people to your site and/or to sell your product. Basically, it is the same as paying someone for commissioned sales of a product so I can’t see how that is considered illegal in any case if you pay what you promise. Good luck to you!

Has anyone used an "Inbound Marketing Tool" such as HubSpot http://www.hubspot.com for advertising?

Thursday Oct 22, 2009

I am not affiliated. I am interested in knowing if there are any other services that offer a comparable service to this in a similar Search Engine Optimization. I believe Google Analytics, Clicky, and Rhinoseo provide nearly all of the same data that Hubspot collects at a cost of $0, but then HubSpot charges $6,000 a year for its services. Is there something I’m missing with this company and why do you think they are charging this much a year for its service, while other companies can provide free technologies? How can any new business see that these costs are well worth it? Has anyone used or know any companies that use their "inbound marketing" services? Can this be affective way of getting traction on a website or would hiring a SEO all-star full time be better recommended for a startup?

i would definetly hire a seo all-star thats way too expensive.

Does anyone know anything about "entry level marketing" jobs?

Wednesday Oct 14, 2009

I’ve been looking for a job and I keep running across "sports marketing" and "event marketing" firms that are offering "entry level management opportunities." I’m always skeptical of "marketing" jobs in general because a lot of times they are either outright scams or just want you to stand on the corner in a chicken suit, so I started researching. What I found was companies like this all over the country. A lot of them have exactly the same webpage with just the name of the company changed. They are obviously affiliated, but I cannot find any evidence of a parent company. They all claim to be independent growing businesses. I also find it strange that the only "marketing" that they seem to be doing is for finding new employees and not actually searching for new clients. Does anyone know anything about these companies? Is it some kind of pyramid scheme? Here’s an example of what I mean… http://www.cookemarketing.com/

sounds like ye olde telemarketing job. i’ll be hanging up on you rudely when you call me during suppertime

Victor – Actually, the job descriptions say no telemarketing, B2B, etc. That’s what I thought at first too.

You will find these jobs are one of two things, telemarketing jobs or door to door canvasser/sales jobs.

Is it best to sign up for many affiliate marketers?

Tuesday Oct 6, 2009

Okay, I definitely want to have Google Adsense. But on other websites I see they have links for "affiliate marketing" at the bottom of webpages. Can I put one of their ads on one of my webpages? And then on another one of my webpages have a different ad from a different affiliate marketer? Or do you have to put up several ads from each affiliate marketer?
Thanks!
:)

I don’t understand why you would want to put one of their ads on to your site. All you would be doing is driving traffic away from your site and sending it to them. They would make money and not you.

Why not become an affiliate yourself and earn yourself extra money?

It’s easy to do and doesn’t have to cost you anything. All you need to do is promote products that are related to the site you have.

You can get lots of information about affiliate marketing, how to find an affiliate program, how to get traffic to your site and lots more from

Since it’s your website you can do whatever you want. Affiliate programs generally don’t have many rules as to which offer you place on your page. Just make sure it’s relevant to get better clicks.
